What irks me is when I'm trying to merge into oncoming traffic ---  when I put on my signal to merge into the left lane of traffic, the person in that left lane always speeds up so I can't come over - no one should be in that big of hurry.  How rude!!

When ever I am driving and se someone is trying to either merge in and I am not talking about those who just push their way in.. I allow them to merge in.  I have had many idiots who have tried to keep me from getting in just because it would mean someone else is ahead of them  As though they are in some race!  Hon I have had people right up my bumper that they are almost touching my car!  If I see someone TRYING to get out of a parking lot of a store or gas station I will slow down to let them come in because I have seen so many times how some folks are sitting a while trying to merge into traffic to leave a store and NO ONE allows them out!!  I try to let them out most of the time. Once in a while I'll honk on my horn or wave to them to go and they just sit there looking at me like as though they fell asleep! But this world is full of RUDE drivers who are in a constant race to be the first at everything!! A lot of them are women in SUV's talking on their cell phone at the same time not paying attention to the road in front of them!!  Like holding the door open for someone at the store or  saying thank you!!

It depends upon whether it's a merge area or a yield.  It's amusing how many people think putting on their turn indicator entitles them to move into the area.  Not if you have a yield sign, skippy!

If it's possible to move over and let them in, I will but I'm not required to do so.
