Yesterday I took my mom to a restaurant on Union that serves great food. I enjoy the down home ambiance of the restaurant. I go regularly on Sunday after church, so I decided to take my mother for the first time. Boy was that a mistake!!!!!
Well....I told her to order whatever she wanted for her special day and she chose the Steak and Shrimp plate. The waitress rarely made eye contact of any sort with us and kept a vigilance of the restaurant floor and doors while listening and writing our order. When she returned with our food my mother only had a shrimmp plate. The waitress said she did not hear her say steak also. Never mind that my mother was pointing to her entree as she ordered. She would have seen that if she was looking at us. Well the only option she gave to accomodate her mistake was 1. My mother should have spoken louder., 2. She can go get the steak cooked and it would take 25 minutes. That meant we as the host of the guest of honor would be eating as she sat., 3. She can take all of our plates back. This sounded to me as though she was saying that we could leave. She also stated that she was the manager when I requested he or she. I had to tell her how inconvenienced we were and how disappointed I was about this fiasco. My feelings were hurt because it was a bad start to my only mom's Mother's Day celebration. We decided to stay because of our next outing starting so soon to the present time. I had to ask her if she could show some type of responsibility by offering my mom a piece of pie. When I did finally speak with a manager, all he said was I'm sorry mam'. The restaurant is called The C-------. I will not tell the full name because I should have gone to the waitress that always serves us promptly and professionally when I come on Sundays. This does not change my opinion of the food, but
Remember to talk loudly to the waitress or you may not receive your full order.
